DINING ON A BUDGET WHILE ON THE ROAD

DINING ON A BUDGET WHILE ON THE ROAD

One of the best ways to dine on a budget while taking a road trip is storing food in coolers. You can find fairly inexpensive coolers at most camping, outdoor and grocery stores, but be wise and pick quality over the cheapest cooler. The more inexpensive coolers tend to fall apart very easily and are not worth it, you will need to replace them so many times, you might as well get the one that will last. Adding ice can get a little expensive depending on the length of your road trip and in warmer temps you will be changing the ice out often due to it melting quicker. There are other options such as ice packs, which can really save some money, if you will eventually have access to a freezer once at your destination to be able to refreeze them for reuse. Most ice pack should remain cold for the most part of the day as long as the cooler isn’t in direct sunlight. Plan to bring as many non-perishable items as you can. Sandwiches, fruit, nuts and veggies are some of the most convenient finger foods to easily eat while traveling on the road and won’t make as much mess. However, bringing a portable camping grill or stove can expand your dining on a budget while traveling options. Pulling over for a small break and eating a nice warm meal might be just you need to keep your energy up while driving! This is an amazing option for a portable grill: https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-2000020930-Camp-Propane-Grill/dp/B002M47P64.
